After operating my oven at 475 degrees for several hours, I turned the oven off and the bottom element stayed on. I have unplugged the oven and then plugged it back in but the bottom element immediately begins to glow red hot. The upper element seems to function normally - I can turn the broiler on/off with the controller but the bottom element cannot be controlled. Could this be a short in the bottom element (possibly from overheating) or is the problem in the controller? The other functions of the controller seem to work fine (clock, clock, broiler).
