Contact us now and we will try to help you fix your JGBP35GEP4WG timer-related problem. we have a GE JGBP35GEP4WG range that the oven will not light. How can i test the ignitor or the panel to determine which may be bad. With the range unplugged, can should there be a resistance reading on the two wires from the panel that go to the glow plug/ignitor? We have just bought a house recently with a 1991 GE XL44 gas range (model number JGBJ35GEP4WG). Unfortunately no owner's manual came with it. Whenever we use the oven to bake, we get a strong gas odor until it reaches the desired temperature (digital thermostat - not dial.) We are somewhat concerned? Do we need to call the gas company? Appliance service? Both? I have a GE XL44 range model jgbp35gep4wg. The bottom ignitor was bad. It wouldn't glow, and the burner flame wouldn't come on. I replaced that, and the new ignitor began glowing and I think I heard a faint whistle of the gas out of the burner. However, I dropped a screw driver on the then-new ignitor as it was glowing and it broke. Now with another new ignitor installed and no screw drivers anywhere in sight, the ignitor will come on and glow, but that's it. No flame and no whistle of the gas from the burner. The top/broil ignitor will now also do the same thing, but I didn't have an issue with that before my screw driver mishap. Could I have somehow damaged the gas valve? Is there a magic trick to testing that? Have GE XL44 gas oven, mdl JGBP35GEP4WG. Burners work fine, broiler works fine, control panel works fine. Oven will 'turn on', shows temp 100 deg. but never warms up. I see no glow under the floor of the oven, so I assume I have bad glo-bar igniter. 1. how do I confirm that? 2. how do I replace? |
